EASTHAM — The Nauset High football team picked up its first win under Head Coach Jesse Peno as the Warriors held on to beat East Bridgewater 21-14 last Friday night.
Junior running back Logan Daniels Julien rushed for a pair of touchdowns, while senior quarterback Dillon White added one of his own. Defensive back Evan Archer sealed the victory with an interception in the end zone with 56 seconds left in the game.
The boys golf team improved to 4-2 with wins over Dennis-Yarmouth and Nantucket on Thursday and Monday, respectively. The Warriors shot a combined 257 to the Dolphins’ 315 before prevailing in a second tiebreaker to beat Nantucket at Miacomet Golf Club on the island. The boys were scheduled to visit Barnstable at Hyannis Golf Club on Tuesday.
Nauset girls soccer bounced back from their first defeat of the season — a 2-0 loss to Newton South, the top-ranked team in the state, on Saturday — with a comprehensive win at Plymouth South on Monday. Margaret Manganaro, Caroline Kennard, and Sophia Easley each tallied first-half goals in a 3-1 win.
The Warrior girls had picked up a 1-0 victory at Sandwich High School last Thursday and now are 4-1-1 on the season.
Boys soccer put on two strong performances to improve to 4-0 on the year. They came from behind to beat Sandwich 3-2 on Thursday before comfortably dispatching Monomoy by a 3-0 score under the lights on Saturday. Omari Perry, Nate Watring, and Charlie Cushing all hit first-half goals in the win over the Sharks.
The boys were scheduled to play at New Bedford on Tuesday.
Nauset field hockey remained undefeated with a 2-1 win at Sturgis West on Friday. They were scheduled to play at Sandwich on Wednesday.
Nauset volleyball, meanwhile, dropped a 3-0 decision to Sandwich to fall to 1-4 overall. The Warriors were due to face Sturgis East on Wednesday.
