EASTHAM — The Nauset High baseball team lost to an undefeated Medfield team on April 23, 12-1. It was a tough loss for the Warriors, but it proved to be a turning point in the season.
Since then, Nauset has won eight games in a row, including a 2-0 revenge win over Medfield on Saturday, May 14. It was the first loss of the season for Medfield — the second-ranked team in the state.
Nauset junior Pete Murphy pitched 5 1/3 innings in relief without allowing a hit. Sophomore Andrew Dinnan had two hits, an RBI, and a run scored to carry the Warrior offense. Nauset is now 10-4 on the season. The team was scheduled to play the Falmouth Clippers at Eldredge Park in Orleans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Nauset softball picked up a 14-1 win over Barnstable on May 13. The team is now 4-8 on the year.
The Nauset boys lacrosse team is keeping its momentum going as well. The team is currently riding a five-game win streak after a 20-8 victory over Rockland last week. The Warriors were scheduled to play Sandwich on Tuesday.
