WELLFLEET — England may have Banksy, but Wellfleet has its own mystery graffiti artist whose works have been popping up at the town’s beaches, painted on the plywood boards where shark warning signs have been posted for the past few years.
The anonymous artist’s work has been enjoyed by many, even among the ranks of town officials like beach administrator and director of human services Suzanne Grout Thomas.
“I love the art,” Thomas said. “I’m in discussion with the dept. of public works on how to manage it and not cover it with the shark signs.”
