Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, July 15 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
A Brown Booby was again seen at Race Point in Provincetown this week. Other sightings at Race Point included a Common Murre, a Little Gull, a Glaucous Gull, 2 Arctic Terns, and a Leach’s Storm-Petrel.

Fifty-four Short-Billed Dowitchers, 24 Whimbrels, and 7 Saltmarsh Sparrows were seen at Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary.
There was a Yellow-Crowned Night-Heron in Eastham. Also, that same Chuck-Will’s-Widow.
They had company in Truro and did not get around to seeing any birds.
