Sean McCabe and Robert Morgan are showing new paintings at Alden Gallery, 423 Commercial St. in Provincetown, from Friday, Aug. 6 through Aug. 19. McCabe uses a palette knife and loose lashings of pigment to depict textured flower arrangements. Morgan’s oils and watercolors mostly “deal with men in relationship to the outdoors and each other, often at beaches,” he says in a press release. They feel vaguely cinematic, like random stills, with clusters of men surrounded by water, sun, and sand. The gallery is open daily, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday through Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m. There will be an opening reception on Friday, Aug. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m.
