Painters Deb Mell, Diane Messinger, and Sarah Riley have a group show at the Commons, 46 Bradford St. in Provincetown, opening Tuesday, July 13th and running through July 24th. Mell’s large mixed-media works depict strange animals and cavorting figures in a ceremonial hinterland; Messinger paints theatrical tableaus of mingling figures in masks and colorful gowns; and Riley fuses digital media, painting, collage, and printmaking into vibrant images that push and pull against fragments of patterned abstraction. The Commons is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
