After a struggle with cancer, Richard A. Scoullar Jr. died at his mother’s home at 22 Court St. in Provincetown on April 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was 63.
The son of Richard and Eugenia Scoullar, Rick was born on Nov. 30, 1959 at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. In 1969, his father was posted to the air base in North Truro, where Rick spent his formative years.
After graduating from Cape Cod Tech, Rick served three years in the Army, then worked for Firestone in Providence, R.I. as a mechanic. Later he returned to school, got his plumber’s license, and started his own business, Scoullar’s Plumber’s Service in South Attleboro.
Rick stayed in close touch with his family in North Truro, visiting often and sharing holidays. He especially enjoyed yearly camping trips with his family in Maine and many weekend trips exploring Boston.
Rick was a diehard Patriots fan, but his true love was playing golf with his many friends and his brother Roy.
He is survived by son Josh of Mansfield; his mother, Eugenia, of Provincetown; sister April Silva and husband Tim of North Truro; younger brother Roy and wife Noelle of Truro; his beloved Aunt Bernice of Providence; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rick was predeceased by his father and brothers Russell and Robert.
A private memorial service will be held at date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations go to the American Cancer Society.
