There will be no stopping Provincetown Pride this year. It takes place Friday, June 4th through Sunday, June 6th.
It kicks off Friday at 8 p.m. at the Shipwreck Lounge, 10 Carver St., with the announcement of “Tito’s Pride Queen” (Tito’s Vodka is a sponsor of Pride). Then, at 9 p.m., is “Billy & Elton: Greatest Hits Live,” a performance by Todd Alsup and Jon Richardson at the Crown & Anchor, poolside at 247 Commercial St. Tickets are $39 at onlyatthecrown.com. At 10 p.m. is another kickoff event at Red Room at Velvet, 258 Commercial St., featuring music by DJ Father Figure. Admission is free, but donations benefit the Provincetown Business Guild.
Saturday is “Express Your Queer Self Day.” Swing by the Provincetown Brewing Co., 141 Bradford St., for a Pride meet-up featuring the Provincetown Queer Council. Don’t miss the 1 p.m. Pride proclamation on the Town Hall steps, featuring Town Crier Daniel Gómez Llata and Town Manager Alex Morse. If you’re feeling lucky, there’s Queer Beer Bingo with Thirsty Burlington at the Crown & Anchor at 2 p.m. The first tea dance of the season is at 4 p.m. at the Boatslip Resort, 161 Commercial St. Round out the day with a 10 p.m. party at the A-House, 6 Masonic Place.
On Sunday at 10 a.m. is a Pride whale watch with the Dolphin Fleet. Finally, at 8 p.m., is the “Provincetown Follies” at the Crown & Anchor. This “gayest show in town” is produced by Live From Provincetown and hosted by Mackenzie. Tickets, which are $49 at onlyatthecrown.com, benefit the Provincetown Business Guild.
