Task Force Appointed
The Truro select board on Tuesday appointed a re-opening task force to plan for how businesses and recreational activities will unfold this summer when the Covid-19 stay-at-home orders are lifted. The members include all five select board members; Steve Roderick, who is president of the Truro Chamber of Commerce; Town Manager Rae Ann Palmer; Assistant Town Manager Kelly Clark; Town Accountant Trudi Brazil; Health Agent Emily Beebe; Police Chief Jamie Calise; and other department heads as needed. Members of the business community are welcome to add feedback.
The select board will meet on Tuesday, May 12, though the time was not announced, at which members of the business community are invited to offer thoughts and concerns about opening up this summer.
The recreation and beach departments are two big unknowns. Palmer told the select board Tuesday that town officials have not yet decided what to do. Truro’s recreation dept. offers a large and popular day camp, which serves as child care for many year-round and summer families. —K.C. Myers
