Lawrence Thomas died at his home in Provincetown on Feb. 8, 2024. No cause of death was given. He was 56.
The son of Dewey and Jean Thomas, Larry was born and grew up in Cincinnati. After he left school, he worked as a truck driver for a food distribution warehouse in Chicago. That’s where he met his wife, Toni, who was also a driver there.
After they married, creating a blended family with six children, they relocated to Provincetown, where Toni had grown up and had family, she said.
In Provincetown, Larry worked at the Conwell Ace Hardware store and as a custodian at town hall. He later worked as a custodian at Nauset Regional High School in Eastham before returning to work in Provincetown, most recently at the U.S. Post Office. Larry attended Grace Chapel in South Wellfleet.
He is survived by his wife, Toni, and by four children and two stepchildren.
Funeral arrangements are private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s name to the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice of Cape Cod.
