Kim Powell is on vacation in Provincetown. She’s from Denver, Colo. and bought her flowy striped caftan from Boss Vintage, a shop that is itself considered vintage. It’s Denver’s oldest vintage clothing store, “c. 1989.”
Of her zippered maxi, she says, “It reminds me of David Bowie.”

She ascribes some superpowers to her accessories. “The glasses are super glittery to block out evil,” Powell says. “I purchased them in 2016 for a particular purpose and I hope they work.
“The glitter is very queer,” Powell says, as she heads down Commercial Street, “and it projects happiness to the world.”
