PROVINCETOWN — Kelly Drew drove to Provincetown from her home in Greenfield for a weekend-long celebration of a friend’s birthday and a chance to be out on the town.

“I like my outside to match my inside,” Drew says. On the outside, what’s in view is a bright orange linen shirt, tied into a jacket, and a shiny purple halter dress. “The dress I just bought yesterday at Shop Therapy,” she says. It was a necessary purchase because she had arrived to an unexpected wave of warm weather.

 

Dangling not-too-daintily from her ears was a pair of rainbow roller skate earrings — a gift from a friend who found them on an Instagram shop. They’re a statement about one of Drew’s passions: “I roller-skate every Thursday,” she says. She likes getting dressed up for it. “I love maximalism,” she says.

Her hair serves as another accessory of sorts, done by a friend. “I asked for dark holographic oil slick rainbow hair back in December,” says Drew. She got what she wanted. “And it’s still so vivid.” —Agata Storer
