Conversation Starters
Cloverleaf Review Continues
Next week the zoning board of appeals will review the latest information on Community Housing Resource’s application to build housing at the Cloverleaf site. The proposed project was submitted in November of last year under the state’s Chapter 40B process. Neighbor concerns about the project’s septic system resulted in the town requesting a review by a third-party engineering firm. That review is expected to be presented at this meeting.
The development would include 40 rental housing units in 11 buildings on approximately 4 acres at 22 Highland Road. The units would be mixed income, with one building including an elevator to make those units fully accessible. —Rik Ahlberg
Crank Revisited
The select board has agreed to let town meeting voters weigh in on whether the board should reverse its decision to replace the old hand-crank ballot box with an electronic vote tabulator. Board members said they were influenced by the number of comments they had received on the topic from citizens to draw up a warrant article for the April 28 meeting. —Edward Miller
