A retrospective of paintings by Forrest Williams continues through Sept. 15 at AMP Gallery, 432 Commercial St. in Provincetown. Williams’s narratives are as much about inner space as they are about exterior worlds. The male figures, nude and clothed, are, the gallery says, like psychological journeymen, anonymous ciphers about no one and everyone. Beautifully painted, the theatrical tableaux of imaginary worlds reside in isolation, connection, and disconnection.
