“Age Is a Work of Art,” a virtual community art exhibit organized by the Eastham Art Committee, can be browsed at easthamlibrary.org.
Highlights include a tapestry of Vincent van Gogh by Roz Diamond, who writes in her artist statement, “Who knew that I would create, in retirement, hand-woven tapestries that I like well enough to not only hang on my own walls, but also to share with others virtually?”
There is also Swinging in the Summer, a hyper-realistic oil painting by Ellen Curley, as well as Penniman House Patchwork Quilt by Peg Flood, who writes, “I like playing with a recognizable photo I’ve taken (in this case, the Captain Penniman House), cutting it into pieces, and assembling it into an out-of-kilter image which becomes an abstract watercolor painting.”
Other highlights are Rise, an unusual still life by Robin Wessman, and Summertime in Upstate NY, a whimsical watercolor by Jan Quarles.
This event is ongoing.
