“Inhabiting the Land: Ecology, Gentle Architecture, and Off the Grid Living” is a virtual group exhibit presented by Higgins Art Gallery at Cape Cod Community College’s Tilden Arts Center. It features works by Mark Adams, Doug Ritter, and Malcolm Wells. There will be a Zoom event on Tuesday, April 20th, at 3 p.m. with guest speakers Chuck Cole and Donald Hartley. Registration is free at capecod.edu/higgins.
Adams, whose art frequently graces the pages of the Independent, is a painter and printmaker who also works as a cartographer for the National Park Service. His painting is figurative, often sketched on maps and filling notebook pages with images and text in a diaristic style.
Ritter, who has been a year-round resident of the Outer Cape since 1997, teaches courses in drawing and design at 4Cs. Wells, who died in 2009 in Brewster, was an architect known for his environmentally friendly underground structures.
