Wellfleet PorchFest will host 29 different bands scattered across 16 local porches on Saturday, Aug. 28. Venues include the Wellfleet Public Library, local businesses, and private residences. Among the performers: The Cedars, Alex Brewer, the Chatham Fiddle Orchestra, Kathleen Healy, Stephen Russell, Jim Rohrer and Katie Hickey, and Thomasina Levy. Wellfleet Preservation Hall presents “Housing Angels in Story and Song,” a community event to benefit the Wellfleet Affordable Housing Trust, on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 5 p.m. Co-hosted by Stephen Russell and Vanessa Vartabedian, it will feature local storytellers sharing the challenges of finding year-round housing in Wellfleet. There will be music by Broadway Central, Jim Rohrer and Katie Hickey, the Beat Greens, the Narrow Land String Band, Alex Brewer, and Fred Magee.
