Shipping
We ship using the United States Postal Service. Items are mailed on weekdays via the post office and we try to get orders out the same day. If an order is placed after 3 p.m. on a weekday, it will be brought to the post office the following business day. USPS tracking numbers are sent to the email address associated with the order once the order has been shipped out of the Provincetown post office.
The shipping cost is calculated automatically by USPS based on the weight of the items and zip code. If you’re only seeing “Priority Mail” as an option, that’s because the cost of it beats the USPS’s regular ground rate.
International shipping: Yes, we can. But we will ask you to cover the cost of shipping. Please get in touch with customer service if you are interested in shipping outside of the US.
Local in-store pickup: If you’re in town, you can avoid shipping costs all together by coming in. When you are purchasing an item, at checkout, just select the “Local In-Store Pick Up” option under Shipping. You will be notified via phone call or email when your item is ready to pick up. Indie Shop pick-up hours are 10am-4pm Monday through Friday, and we do ask that you call ahead to make sure we are present when you arrive. If you have questions about local pickup, call before placing your order.
Returns
Please note we cannot exchange or issue refunds on any item 30 days or more beyond the date the item was delivered to you or your gift recipient. Also, we do not accept returns or exchanges on final sale items (if an item is final sale, that will be noted in the product description).
Returns for Exchanges
Need a different size or product? We can offer an exchange if the item is not used or damaged in any way. If you have tried a clothing item on once to check the fit you may still return it. Items that are sent as gifts can also be exchanged.
How to exchange:
Start by reaching out to customer service by emailing [email protected] or calling 508-237-8381 extension 3 to let us know about your desired exchange. We will need to know the order number and/or name of the purchaser. Once we have approved your exchange we’ll offer instructions on sending the item back (you’ll pay the return shipping). When we receive the original item back in unused and good condition, we will send out the new one (we’ll cover postage on the replacement item.
Returns for Refunds
We will accept an item for a refund within 30 days of delivery to you.
Start by reaching out to customer service by emailing [email protected] or calling 508-237-8381 extension 3 to let us know about the return you want to make. Once the return has been approved by customer service, we will provide you with instructions on sending the item back to us (you’ll pay the return shipping). When we receive the original item in good and unused condition, we will issue a refund to your original payment method. A notification of your refund will be sent to the email address on file for the order.
FAQs
The size or style I want is out of stock. Can I preorder an item?
At this time we do not allow for back-ordered items through the Indie Shop. However, if you know which size and style you would like, let us know so we may factor it into our next order.
I want to send a gift. Can you leave out pricing information?
Yes, and we appreciate you sending an Indie gift! When purchasing a gift, fill out the billing portion of the order with your own information, then check the box that says “Ship to a different address?”. Your gift recipient’s mailing information will go under the shipping portion.
There is also an option to add a note to your order. This is where you can let us know any gift messaging and or special delivery instructions for USPS.
Are all of your T-Shirts and Sweatshirts unisex sized?
Yes, all adult and youth sizes are unisex. The T-shirts are sized like a slim fit for men. The sweatshirts do run larger. Fit information is provided under each item description.
Do you have a physical store?
The Indie Shop runs out of The Provincetown Independent office, which is located at 237 Commercial Street at Whaler’s Wharf in Provincetown. We’re on the first floor all the way to the back, across from Vintage in Vogue. If you’d like to come by the office to shop, we recommend giving us a call first at 508-237-8381 ext. 3 to ensure we’ll have room for you (we’re working in keeping with Covid-19 safety protocols of headcount per square ft.).
