Gail Lida Widdison Guilford of Eastham died at Pleasant Bay Nursing Center in Brewster on Nov. 11, 2022 with her husband, Gill, at her side. She was 82.
Gail was born on Feb. 2, 1940 in Hartford, Conn. to the late Kenneth Widdison and Florence Widdison Galeota. She attended East Hartford High School, graduating in 1957. After high school, she worked at Dun & Bradstreet as a typist and then at Manchester Memorial Hospital in the purchasing department. When her husband started his own business, she did the office work and bookkeeping. When Gill sold his business, Gail went to work in the local school system as a teachers aide. She retired about five years later.
Gail loved the beach, swimming, boating, fishing, and traveling in their motorhome to southern states in the winter and northern areas in the summer. She was a member of the Eastham United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Allan “Gill” Guilford; her brother, Anthony Galeota; her son, James Peter Masterson; and by two granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Gail was predeceased by her stepfather and her twin sister.
Services were held on Nov. 22 at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home in East Hartford, Conn.; burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
