George Flammer, 74, died on May 24, 2021 in New Orleans, where he had relocated in 2005. He had previously lived in Provincetown for 25 years, working as a carpenter. Those who knew him will likely remember his piercing blue eyes, generous mustache, and vibrant personality. He once remarked that “in Provincetown, whether you know it or not, someone always has an arm around your shoulder.”
George was thrilled to have been one of the original volunteers who figured out how to string and light the Pilgrim Monument as it still shimmers today. He was an escapist and avid reader of adventures. He leaves two siblings, Adrienne and James (a.k.a. Jimbo, now in California), and many dear friends coast to coast.
