A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Frank J. Pantano at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 18 at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 18 Belvedere St., Boston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Frank died on Dec. 20, 2020 at Mass. General Hospital at age 65. He lived a rich and varied life in Boston and Provincetown, where he was well known for his garden, his cooking, and his devotion to teaching and to the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network. His obituary was published in the Independent on Dec. 31, 2020.
He worked for nearly a decade with Limitless Horizons Ixil, a youth development program in rural Guatemala. He traveled to the Guatemalan countryside to work with indigenous young people. Katie Morrow, the executive director of Limitless Horizons, wrote shortly after Frank’s death, “We are so grateful for all of his support over the years and will dearly miss his involvement, his expansive knowledge, his fun easy going way of getting meaningful work done, and his friendship.”
Frank was predeceased by his husband of 37 years, Edward M. Conroy. He is survived by his siblings, John P. Pantano of Weymouth; Paul R. Pantano and wife Patricia of Braintree; and Janice M. Maitino and husband Paul of Oklahoma City and Provincetown.
