Edward G. Vitale of Wellfleet, known to all as Ted, died on May 1, 2020, at age 56, after his second valiant battle with cancer.
Ted was a professional actor and singer whose credits included the lead role of Claude in the 20th anniversary tour of Hair. He performed on major stages in 48 states.
Over the past 25 years, he had a hand in theater produced on Cape Cod, holding the titles of artistic director, technical director, producer, and managing director, working with theater companies in Chatham, Harwich, Orleans, Wellfleet, and Provincetown. For several years he served as adjunct professor of stagecraft at Cape Cod Community College.
Just last spring he appeared at the Harwich Theatre as Dr. Bob in Bill W. and Dr. Bob and as Charlemagne in Pippin.
Ted was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father. He leaves his wife, Pam Bergeron; his son, Dante; his father, Al; stepmother Marilyn; and siblings Jack, Dan, Gina, Sharron, Terri, and Steve, as well as many nephews and nieces.
