Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, April 15 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Birds in Provincetown this week included a Pacific Loon and 3 Common Murres at Race Point. There were also 40 Blue Jays, 20 Golden-Crowned Kinglets, 5 Palm Warblers, and 5 Rusty Blackbirds at Beech Forest. And at MacMillan Pier, a Harlequin Duck.

In Eastham, two Sandhill Cranes were seen flying by the Salt Pond Visitor Center on April 8. The Pacific Loon described here last week continued on Great Pond. Also, two Snow Geese continued at Fort Hill in Eastham.
