Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Monday, July 1 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Three Sandwich Terns were photographed passing Race Point in Provincetown, where other sightings included a Caspian Tern, a Royal Tern, 2 Arctic Terns, a Wilson’s Storm-Petrel, 11 Cory’s Shearwaters, 6 Great Shearwaters, a Sooty Shearwater, and 7 Manx Shearwaters.
There was a Chuck-Will’s-Widow at Nauset Light Beach in Eastham.
A Pomarine Jaeger and two Cliff Swallows were seen on the other side of Nauset Beach in Orleans.
