Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, May 7 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included a Pacific Loon, 400 Red-Breasted Mergansers, 750 Laughing Gulls, a Lesser Black-Backed Gull, and Iceland Gull, a Razorbill, and a Manx Shearwater.
With nobody dropping a dime in any of our other towns, we look to Orleans for news. There, 450 Red-Throated Loons were sighted this week.
