Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, April 2 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Western Kingbird overwintering in Eastham was reported again in neighborhoods north of Salt Pond Visitor Center. Elsewhere in town, there was a Yellow-Breasted Chat.
There was an Orange-Crowned Warbler in Truro and a Northern Waterthrush in North Truro.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included a Pacific Loon, 3 Common Murres, 9 Iceland Gulls, a Glaucous Gull, 3 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls, 290 Red-Throated Loons, 220 Northern Gannets, and a Lapland Longspur.
