Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, May 9 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
A Rusty Blackbird and a Summer Tanager were reported from Provincetown.
Birds at High Head in North Truro included a Blue Grosbeak, an Evening Grosbeak, and 2 Little Blue Herons. Also, a Mississippi Kite was reported from Truro back on May 3.
A Sandhill Crane, a Yellow-Throated Warbler, and a Hooded Warbler were seen at Wellfleet Bay sanctuary this week. The crane was later reported from Truro and Provincetown.
Two White-Winged Crossbills and an Evening Grosbeak were seen elsewhere in Wellfleet.
There was a Cattle Egret at Fort Hill in Eastham.
