The report from Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary for the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, May 2 was delayed, wrote Mark Faherty, “because I ended up out in the field looking at birds, of all things.”
He continued, however, with this: “The big news this week was untold thousands of Red Phalaropes and lesser numbers of Red-Necked Phalaropes from Provincetown to Falmouth, but mostly concentrated off of Nauset Beach in Orleans.”
A Rusty Blackbird was seen in the Beech Forest in Provincetown.
