Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, April 4 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Sightings from Race Point in Provincetown included 2 Thick-Billed Murres, 2 Common Murres, 8 Razorbills, 11 Piping Plovers, and 9 Iceland Gulls.
No idea why the Outer Cape bird people have put down their binoculars. The report from the Audubon included early spring migrants of many colors seen up Cape including a Blue-Winged Teal, a Red-Shouldered Hawk, a Purple Martin, and a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet.
