Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, Sept. 6 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
A Brown Booby was seen on Stellwagen Bank on Aug. 31.
A Baird’s Sandpiper was at the West End of Provincetown.
There was a single Olive-Sided Flycatcher in Truro.
A Western Sandpiper was reported in Wellfleet.
A Brown Pelican, likely the same bird that has been seen in other places for over a month, was seen at Nauset Inlet in Eastham this week. A single Little Blue Heron was also reported in town.
