Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, July 23 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Birds at Race Point in Provincetown included 2 Parasitic Jaegers, 2 Black Terns, 150 Roseate Terns, 120 Wilson’s Storm-Petrels, 18 Cory’s Shearwaters, 55 Great Shearwaters, 7 Sooty Shearwaters, and 12 Manx Shearwaters.
There was a Sora at High Head in North Truro.
That Chuck-Will’s-Widow is still hanging out at Nauset Light Beach in Eastham.
