Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, May 21 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included a Red-Necked Grebe, 4 Parasitic Jaegers, a Razorbill, a Black Guillemot, a Common Murre, a Lesser Black-Backed Gull, 40 Red-Throated Loons, and a Manx Shearwater.
Two Dark-Eyed Juncos were seen in North Truro this week.
A Cerulean Warbler was at Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary.
There was a Nelson’s Sparrow at Fort Hill in Eastham.
Reports of both Red Crossbills and Pine Siskins came in from several places around the Cape so let’s count them in, shall we?
