Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, March 26 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
A Townsend’s Solitaire continued at High Head in North Truro.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included an early Manx Shearwater, 2 Pacific Loons, 2 Thick-Billed Murres, 2 Black Guillemots, 90 Razorbills, 4 Common Murres, 8 Iceland Gulls, a Glaucous Gull, and 325 Red-Throated Loons. There was also a Black Vulture in Provincetown this week.
Someone saw an American Bittern in North Truro.
