Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, Nov. 15 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
At Race Point in Provincetown, sightings this week included a Pacific Loon, 430 Long-Tailed Ducks, 650 Razorbills, 425 Black-Legged Kittiwakes, 2 Parasitic Jaegers, 40 Cory’s Shearwaters, 225 Great Shearwaters, 7 Manx Shearwaters, a Barn Swallow, 8 Red Crossbills, and 150 Snow Buntings.
Single Grasshopper Sparrows were seen in Provincetown and Truro this week and single Barn Swallows were seen in Provincetown and Eastham.
There was a Dickcissel in Truro.
There was a Bohemian Waxwing in Wellfleet.
