Conversation Starter
Superintendent Interviews
At a series of four school committee meetings next week, members will interview three candidates for superintendent. Current Supt. Gerry Goyette is retiring; interviews with finalists selected by a search committee are open to the public.
Amy Kelly, principal at Stratton Elementary in Arlington, will be interviewed at the school library on Tuesday. Mary Ellen Janeiro, director of English and reading for the Braintree Public Schools, will be interviewed on Wednesday, and Paul Teixeira, director of English learner education for Medford Public Schools, will be interviewed on Thursday.
The meetings are posted to begin at 5:30 p.m., but a “community forum” with each candidate will begin a half hour earlier. The forums will provide an opportunity for back-and-forth conversation between the candidates and the public.
The committee will deliberate in open session on Friday. —Paul Benson
