A Timeline for a Job Opening
After just over a year in the job and a month on leave, Elisabeth Verde left her position as town clerk on Jan. 23. Executive Assistant Nicole Tudor will continue to serve as acting town clerk, according to a statement from Communications and Marketing Coordinator Katie Riconda.
The town is developing a timeline for hiring a permanent replacement for Verde, according to Riconda — a process that it expects to finalize this month. The town also plans to encourage internal candidates to apply, Riconda’s missive said.
Tudor is “prioritizing the day-to-day clerk responsibilities and the time sensitive and critical tasks of the clerk, including budget preparations and preparing for annual town meeting and the annual town election,” Riconda wrote. Tudor is also the executive assistant for the town manager’s office.
Angie Sprang, a records access officer consultant hired by the town last fall, is now handling public records requests. These requests were previously managed by the town’s executive assistants, but Riconda wrote that “the volume of the requests exceeded current staff capacity.” —Aden Choate
