Town Meeting Date Set
The select board has set Saturday, May 3, 2025 as the date for the next town meeting. The warrant will open on Jan. 31 at 8 a.m. and close on March 3 at 4 p.m. for petitioned and committee articles, with an earlier deadline for fiscal articles.
Attendance surged last year at two town meetings on May 4 and May 5, with 632 Truro residents at the special town meeting and 647 at the annual town meeting, both held outdoors at Truro Central School. This was more than double the 2023 turnout. To accommodate the crowd, the town spent $75,000 on renting a heated tent, 1,000 chairs, and an outdoor audio system.
“We need to plan for the same number of people,” said board chair Susan Areson. “Hopefully, we won’t need a two-day meeting.” —Aden Choate
