More Meals and Food Pantries
Besides the daily weekday lunches served by the Soup Kitchen in Provincetown (SKIP) at the United Methodist Church (see page A4), there are several other options in town. At the same church that hosts SKIP, the Provincetown Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod offers its clients a year-round food pantry at 96 Bradford St.; call 508-487-9445 for information. Also, lunches for clients are available at ASGCC for delivery or pickup, Monday through Friday year round.
Three other pantries to know about include the one run by the council on aging: it has nonperishables plus personal care and household products available for pickup and delivery, and it’s open to all at 2 Mayflower St.; call 508-487-7080 for information. Helping Our Women has a pantry with nonperishable foods and personal care products. It’s by appointment, so call 508-487-4357 or stop in at 34 Conwell St. to set one up. The Unitarian Universalist Meeting House at 236 Commercial St. has a 24-hour nonperishable pantry in the front of the church, open to all.
The Crop Swap continues at the Provincetown Public Library. You’ll find a fridge stocked with fresh produce there, and it’s free. —William von Herff
