New Deputy Fire Chief
Eastham’s Deputy Fire Chief Eric Littmann began his new job on Sept. 30, taking the position vacated by Lisa Albino, who became Eastham’s fire chief on Sept. 9. Town Manager Jacqui Beebe called Littmann a “very talented and experienced firefighter, EMT, and paramedic” at the select board meeting on Sept. 23.
Albino was one of Littmann’s instructors for a paramedic training course at Cape Cod Community College in 1992. “This is about coming full circle for me,” he says. “It’s an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
Littmann became an instructor himself. He has taught firefighting courses at the College of Southern Nevada for 13 years. This year, he was named director of the Mass. Firefighting Academy.
Littmann began his career in the Cotuit Fire Dept. in 1994 and moved to the Las Vegas Fire Dept. in 1998. He was on duty on Oct. 1, 2017 when a gunman opened fire on the last day of the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Strip, killing 58 people. At the time, Littmann was president of the Las Vegas Firefighters union, and he worked to deploy PTSD services for union members during the shooting’s aftermath.
In 2018, Littmann retired from the Las Vegas department and moved to Medfield, where he worked as a paramedic for five years.
Littmann also appeared on seasons 6 and 7 of the reality TV series Big Brother. —Parker Mumford
