Early in-Person Voting
The state primary election is Sept. 3, and the last day to register is Saturday, Aug. 24. Voters who want to cast their ballots early may do so in person in the clerk’s office at town hall on Aug. 24 from 1 to 5 p.m., then Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 30 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Free Covid Tests
The health dept. announced this week that it is once again providing free Covid tests. “The increase in cases informed our decision to re-up our supply,” said Sam Poyant, an administrative assistant.
According to the Mass. Dept. of Public Health, Eastham averaged 104.3 cases per 100,000 residents from June 30 to Aug. 10. That puts Eastham’s average case rate below Provincetown’s but ahead of Truro’s and Wellfleet’s.
Pick up free tests from the health dept. Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays between 8 a.m. and noon. —Jack Styler
