Planning for Maurice’s
The Maurice’s Campground Planning Committee wants to hear community input on planning for affordable housing at an Aug. 1 meeting at 6 p.m. in the Adult Community Center.
The town purchased the 21-acre campground in 2022 for $6.5 million. Since then, the 11-member planning committee has been meeting monthly.
Last March, the committee announced its selection for the project’s master planners, which includes Studio G Architects of Jamaica Plain, JM Goldson for community engagement, and Langan Engineering for site planning.
The master planning process will start with the community meeting to gather recommendations for land use, landscaping, housing types, income restrictions and more. The planning committee will also be facilitating focus groups, in which groups of eight members of the public will meet to discuss their ideas for the project.
