Community Pasta
Truro Central School will become a pasta house from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday when local celebrity chefs pool their skills to whip up a community feast. Tony Pasquale of the recently closed Terra Luna, Raina Stefani of Provincetown’s Baie Bar, and Liam Lutrell-Rowland of Salty Market are the “local culinary stars” creating the meal.
Suggested donations are $5 per child, $10 per adult, and $25 for families. Proceeds go to the school’s “educational gardens, offering students hands-on learning opportunities that nurture their understanding of sustainable agriculture and balanced eating.”
The event, organized by the school’s wellness committee, will also honor Bob Montano, who in January sold the Truro restaurant he bought in 1988 and who is donating homemade spaghetti for the event. He was a longtime contributor of fresh pasta for the school’s farm-to-school lunch program.
A $1 raffle offers the chance to win gift certificates to establishments spanning the Outer Cape. Meals can be eaten at the school or picked up to go. Early tickets and more information are available on the Truro Central School website.
Community Service
The deadline to nominate a board or committee member for the annual Fred Todd Community Service Award has been extended by one month. Residents can now send nominations until Monday, April 1.
The honor is awarded as a tribute to Fred Todd, a longtime Truro resident and activist who died in April 2022. It’s given annually to someone who “exemplifies Fred Todd’s selfless volunteer service and dedication to the town of Truro.” The nomination form is available on the town’s website and should be emailed to Katie Riconda at [email protected]. —Sophie Mann-Shafir
