Conversation Starters
Office Hours
Beginning this month, Dept. of Public Works Director Jarrod Cabral will hold weekly office hours on Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m. The sessions will take place in the recreation lounge at the community center (7 Standish Way) through Friday, May 3. That’s the last Friday before the scheduled date of the combined special and annual town meetings, which will take place on Saturday, May 4. Four articles on the special town meeting warrant have to do with the DPW facility, plans for which have been the subject of disagreement in town.
Town Manager Darrin Tangeman has also begun holding weekly office hours on Mondays from 2:30 to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Those take place at town hall (24 Town Hall Road). Tangeman will also hold a “coffee hour” with community members on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the community center.
Both are inviting questions, which can be emailed to [email protected] or [email protected].
Truro’s Got Talent
The town is seeking new instructors with “a talent you would like to share” to teach classes at the Truro Community Education spring session, which will begin in March.
In the past, classes have spanned arts, physical activities, and included Spanish language.
If interested, fill out the form available on the town’s website or contact Heather Harper at [email protected] or by calling (508) 487-1558 ext. 203. Instructors will be paid $60 per class session. —Sophie Mann-Shafir
