Flooding Forum
Provincetown’s Coastal Resiliency Advisory Committee is holding a public forum on Wednesday, Dec. 13 on how to prepare for storms.
The Cape Cod Cooperative Extension’s coastal resilience specialist, Shelly McComb, will give a presentation on how homeowners and businesses can prepare for saltwater flooding. Town staff will give updates on the town’s coastal resilience plans and ongoing projects, including the dune project at Ryder Street beach.
The committee is also specifically encouraging people who have already been affected by coastal flooding — including the Jan. 4, 2018 storm that soaked the center of town and the West End, and the Dec. 23, 2022 storm that flooded Howland Street, Daggett Lane, and Suzanne’s Garden — to attend.
The plan is for public forums to continue bimonthly, and the committee wants guidance from the public on its objectives and plans going forward. —Paul Benson
