Conversation Starters
Why Electrify?
The climate action committee, in partnership with the library, will host a session on Dec. 7 about renewable energy. It’s called “Why Should I Electrify If the Grid Is Dirty?” Representatives from Cape Light Compact, including Executive Director Maggie Downey and power supply planner Mariel Marchand, will participate in the discussion.
The forum will include a history of the grid and of renewable energy legislation. It will answer questions about “where your money goes when you pay your bill, and what has been the progress toward renewable energy so far,” according to the climate action committee’s announcement about the event. The audience will also be invited to ask questions.
The session will take place at the Truro Public Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A link to register is available on the library’s website; attendance is free. —Sophie Mann-Shafir
