Revenue Generation
The select board voted to establish a municipal revenue ad hoc task force at its meeting on Nov. 14. The idea, presented by chair Kristen Reed, was part of the select board’s goals and objectives for fiscal 2024.
The town is currently seeking applicants for the task force.
According to its charge, the new committee will “undertake a comprehensive evaluation of the town’s revenue sources, pinpoint opportunities for revenue enhancement, and provide recommendations aimed at fortifying our town’s fiscal standing.”
The task force’s recommendations are to be presented to the select board by April 1, 2024.
The group will include two select board members and five others. The board decided on Nov. 14 that Reed and vice chair Sue Areson would serve as its representatives. Other applicants may be town officials, financial experts, business and community leaders, and residents with interest or expertise in municipal revenue.
The application is available online.
Seeking Part-Time Residents
The town is also seeking applicants for the newly reconstituted part-time residents advisory committee. The committee will include seven part-time residents in addition to the ex officio membership of the town manager.
The committee’s charge and an application are available online. Members will be appointed by the select board. —Sophie Mann-Shafir
