Conversation Starters
Winter Wednesdays
Provincetown’s midwinter tonic for social isolation, the “Winter Wednesdays” program of workshops and classes, is seeking instructors. The program will run from Jan. 15 to March 4 this year and is open to participants from across the Outer Cape. It now includes free taxi rides for residents of Provincetown, Truro, and Wellfleet and free child care for Provincetown residents. Class supplies are free to all participants as well.
Last year’s classes covered a range of subjects including digital photography, art journaling, Adobe Photoshop, Bulgarian music, and how to use a sewing machine. Instructor applications are due by Nov. 27; instructors receive a $50 stipend per class session and reimbursement for supplies.
Vaccine Clinic
Provincetown’s health dept. and the Outer Cape Wellness Collaborative are hosting a free Covid and flu vaccine clinic at the Provincetown library on Monday, Nov. 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. While online registration is encouraged, walk-ins are also welcome.
Dinghy Dock
Provincetown’s harbormaster is working with the pier manager to establish new procedures at the dinghy dock in the wake of the vandalism of two inflatable dinghies this summer. According to the Nov. 8 town manager’s report, “Conversations with the Pier Corp. will start in December regarding the dinghy dock and what needs to change in the harbor regulations.” —Paul Benson
