In the Market for a Town Clerk
After the unexpected departure of Kaci Fullerton at the end of May, Truro is reviewing applications for a new town clerk. According to the job posting on the town website, a first review of applications was scheduled for Friday, July 7.
The listed salary range for fiscal 2024 is $80,799 to $105,425, with a $3,000 signing bonus.
Without a town clerk, Truro cannot certify birth, marriage, and death certificates, as previously reported by the Independent. Town Manager Darrin Tangeman said last month that the town intended to hire a new clerk before the fall special town meeting.
As of Tuesday, Fullerton is still listed in the staff directory. Truro is the only Outer Cape town that does not employ an assistant town clerk. The year-round population of Truro is 1,575, according to Cape Cod Commission data. —Amelia Roth-Dishy
