Conversation Starters
A Green Future
The climate action committee and the public library have joined forces to put on a participatory environmental event at the library this Saturday. It will take on questions like “What do we envision for a green future?” and “What actions can we take as individuals and as a community to mitigate and adapt to climate change?”
Input is encouraged. Those interested are encouraged to register in advance on the library’s website for the session, which will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17.
LCPC Public Forum
The local comprehensive planning committee will hold a public forum on June 15 in the Community Center to gather feedback on its draft plan.
The plan will “identify the needs, goals, and visions for the next 5 to 10 years of Truro’s future and translates them into an implementation plan that can be carried out over time.”
“If people want to talk about the direction of the town and plans for the future, I really would encourage everyone to show up,” select board member Sue Areson said at the board’s June 13 meeting. “The last forum we had was terrific,” she added and said that the committee is hoping for as much feedback as possible before its final draft comes out. She said it will ideally be complete by the end of the summer.
Child care and food will be provided at the event, which starts at 5 p.m. —Sophie Mann-Shafir
