Conversation Starters
Lawrence Hill
The affordable housing development planned at 95 Lawrence Road has been named “Lawrence Hill” in honor of Mary K. Lawrence, a Wellfleet resident who donated the property to the town in 1938, said select board chair Ryan Curley. Lawrence received the land by deed from Frank King in 1921, according to Barnstable County Registry of Deeds records.
The “Lawrence Hill” development will include 46 units of affordable rental housing. It is projected to be ready to lease in late 2024.
Regional Housing Survey
The Cape Cod Commission is seeking survey responses from Cape Cod residents to inform the development of a regional housing strategy. The survey asks participants about their preferences for housing development, including the design of housing, housing types, and locations for new development.
The strategy will address the Cape’s housing supply, including affordability and availability issues, by identifying areas for development and offering policies and strategies to further housing goals on Cape Cod.
The survey takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete and can be found on the town’s website. —Sam Pollak
